The popularity of Halloween seems to be rising every year in Australia and whilst there is some really impressive Halloween events happening, the kids can have just as much fun dressing up and walking around the neighbourhood, knocking on doors and seeing what happens when they say TRICK OR TREAT.
However, not all houses are welcoming of children participating so we have put together a list of addresses we have been informed would love to see all the kids dressed up in their halloween costumes on Trick or Treat night (Tuesday 31 October)
We've also included an IDEAS list to help make Halloween night more enjoyable for everyone - the little trick or treaters AND the households we go knocking on!

SPOOKTACULAR TIPS & IDEAS FOR A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE HALLOWEEN:
*I hope it goes without saying that all children should be accompanied by a trusted adult when walking around the neighbourhood and knocking on doors.
*If a household is "dressed up" with halloween decorations, it's a pretty safe bet that they will welcome trick or treaters.
*If there's nothing in your area, ask family and friends if you can visit with your little ones.
*Do a letterbox drop to the neighbours with a laminated pumpkin attached. If the neighbours would like a visit from the kids they can display the pumpkin on the letterbox. (Thanks to Angela Woodcock)
*Deliver an orange balloon to neighbours and ask them to put the balloon out if they are happy to have little visitors on the night. See example letter to the left. (Thanks to Ceinwen Walton for the suggestion)
*Use the SAPOL posters (attached to this blog) on your door or letterbox to let trick or treaters know if they are welcome. (Thank you to Jeanette Besse for sending those through).
*Some houses use the "Front Light On Front Light Off" approach, as in if the front porch light is on then please know, if it's off please don't. (Thanks to Kristie Meier for letting us know)
*If you prefer not to be disturbed but still want to participate, an idea is to leave a bucket of candy with a sign similar to the one to the left such as "Halloween sure is sweet, Help yourself to a treat".
*If you are all out of candy, leave a sign on the door so you don't get disturbed with eager little monsters, such as "Boo! Looks like we are all out of lollies".
Here's a list of the HALLOWEEN FRIENDLY addresses/suburbs from PREVIOUS YEARS - this is for information purposes only - it does not mean that these houses are participating this year but it may be worth a drive to check out just in case.
